About us

Standard Heritage is a building surveying practice that operates in the historic built environment. The firm has a specialism in building pathology; diagnosing and remedying damp.

We use the British Standards and current UK building regulations relevant to buildings of traditional construction with breathable fabric. This to help diagnose and remedy damp issues in all traditional building types, ranging from medieval timber framed halls to Edwardian terraced houses and everything in-between.

We provide long-term solutions by respecting the buildings original design principles and with use of materials that they were first built with.

We offer this service to the general public, RICS and other commercial practices.
We also Carry out level three RICS Building Surveys on all old buildings, listed or without destination.

RICS Regulated
Firms that come under RICS regulation are easy to spot as they use the words 'Regulated by RICS' on their letterhead and other communication materials. Regulated firms must follow the RICS Rules of Conduct for Firms and are held to a higher standard in areas such as staff training, professional indemnity insurance, complaints handling and security of clients' money.

Firms that are Regulated by RICS commit to the highest professional and ethical standards. In the rare cases where disciplinary action has been taken against a firm, records are published online.
