About Us
Harrison Clarke is an independent firm of Chartered Building Surveyors regulated by the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS), delivering clear, pragmatic and commercially focused advice across residential and commercial property. Based in Southampton and operating throughout London and the South of England, we support property owners, occupiers, investors and professionals at every stage of the property lifecycle.
Our core strength lies in combining technical expertise with real-world commercial understanding. We recognise that our clients are not simply buying a report, they are making decisions that carry financial, legal and operational consequences. Our role is to provide clear, reliable advice that cuts through complexity and enables confident decision-making.
We provide a full range of building surveying services, including commercial building surveys, residential RICS Home Surveys (Level 2 and Level 3), leaseholder surveys, defect diagnosis, and planned maintenance advice. Our reports are structured to identify risk, prioritise issues and provide practical, proportionate recommendations rather than generic commentary.
Harrison Clarke is particularly well known for its expertise in dilapidations, acting for both landlords and tenants in the preparation, negotiation and resolution of claims. We take a strategic, evidence-based approach to dilapidations, helping clients minimise liability, avoid disputes where possible, and achieve commercially sensible outcomes where disputes arise. This includes the preparation of schedules of dilapidations, responses, and expert advice in support of negotiations or formal proceedings.
We also provide specialist services including party wall advice, photographic schedules of condition, and expert witness support where disputes require independent technical input. Our experience across both advisory and contentious work gives us a well-rounded perspective, allowing us to anticipate issues early and provide robust, defensible advice.
Our approach is defined by clarity, consistency and attention to detail. We are committed to producing high-quality reports that are technically sound, easy to understand, and aligned with current RICS standards and best practice. We take professional responsibility seriously and operate with a strong focus on risk management, accuracy and client care.
A key part of our mission is to make high-quality property advice more accessible. We regularly publish practical guidance and insights through our online blog and YouTube channel, helping clients and property professionals better understand common issues, risks and opportunities before they become costly problems. You can explore our content at Harrison Clarke website and on our YouTube channel.
At Harrison Clarke, we aim to build long-term relationships with our clients by delivering dependable advice, responsive service and a consistently high standard of work. Whether acting on a single property or across a wider portfolio, our focus remains the same: to protect our clients’ position and provide clear, actionable insight at every stage.
