About Us
Banham & Barnes Surveying Ltd is an independent residential surveying practice with over 35 years’ experience in surveying and property, offering Level 2 Home Surveys and Level 3 Building Surveys across Somerset and Dorset, including Bruton, Castle Cary, Sherborne, Frome, Yeovil and the surrounding areas.
The practice is led by Michael Barnes, an Associate of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors, with extensive knowledge of both traditional and modern construction. We specialise in the inspection of period properties, country houses, farmhouses and rural buildings, as well as more modern residential dwellings.
Our approach is to provide clear, practical and thorough reports, helping clients to understand the condition of a property, the likely causes of defects, and the implications for repair and maintenance. Where appropriate, we also provide guidance on remedial works and ongoing upkeep.
As an independent firm, we offer a personal and responsive service, with a focus on careful and thorough inspection, allowing time on site to properly assess each property and provide clear, straightforward professional advice.
