Changes to RICS Home Surveys and the RICS Homebuyer Report

Thursday, January 21, 2016

Associate Director, Graham Ellis MRICS, gives an update on proposed changes to the RICS HomeBuyer Report.

RICS Home Surveys give advice to home buyers, sellers and occupiers on the condition and environs of a residential property.

At present the HomeBuyer Report also offers the client an opinion of the market value but a survey-only version of the HomeBuyer Report is now to be introduced alongside this, along with essential updates to the contract letter and the Leasehold Properties Advice.

The revised Homebuyer Reports and supporting documents are now out to member consultation and we ask that you look through the documents and feedback your observations. The HBR is an important part of the RICS offering to consumers and it is essential that members look through the proposals and give their views.
